Pastor Roy Glass, III and his wife Carol, moved to Covington from Blacksburg, VA where they directed the ministry of Camp Tukaway for the last 11 years. His first service here was Easter Sunday 2020 when he led the congregation in worship in the church parking lot. Due to the coronavirus pandemic this was the first time the church had met together as a body since they had voted to call Roy as pastor 5 weeks earlier.

Roy and Carol met at Liberty Baptist College in Lynchburg VA and celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2019. He has been in ministry for over 45 years, starting out helping his pastor/father at the Fairlawn Grace Brethren Church in Radford VA as a teenager. After College he would eventually join with his father in ministry again at the Troy Grace Brethren Church in the late 80’s and early 90’s. The Troy Church merged with our Church in 1998. Over the years he has served the Lord as a youth pastor, senior pastor and in giving leadership to various youth and camping ministries, as well as helping with new church plants and serving as interim pastor for pastorless churches. He has served churches in Ohio, Indiana, Maryland and Virginia.

He and Carol are the parents of 3 grown children Roy IV (Amanda), Adam, and Amy (Craig Pemberton). They are the proud grandparents of 8.

They are excited to be starting out on this new adventure in their lives and are looking forward to joining with Friendship as we strive to make Disciples for Jesus in Covington, Miami County and beyond.
